The Winkels-Plate is developed in accordance with the optimal resection line of the hemipelvis.
The design contains a twist of 15° in comparison to conventional TPO-procedures and is designed for use in small dogs too.
TPO is the well known procedure for hip related disease. The more modern DPO (double pelvic osteotomy) contains the advantage of higher stability of the pelvis and the less postoperative complications like screw loosening or related failure.
The other advantage is the shorter recovery time to be able to service the other hip side as close as possible.
We recommend an arthroscopic examination to figure out the condition of the cartilage tissue.
